Concept Camaro
Inspired by the Penske Camaros of the late 60's
By: Ismael "the Corvette guy" Gonzalez
Another Non-Corvette build.
I have always been inspired by other modelers like Bob Downie,
who has demonstrated over and over again that a curbside can be a GREAT looking
model. So this was a 3 week quick build focused mainly on the paint scheme. Of
course I couldn't leave it as is, so I did a racing inspired interior. The idea
was to build a dual purpose car: A street legal daily driver (emissions
inspection, license plate etc) for the week and a track warrior for the weekend.
Obviously inspired by the racing Penske Camaros of the late 60's, I put a
modern touch with the mirrors and deck spoiler in raw carbon fiber. Been such a
quick build it is far from perfect. The extinguisher is a tad too big and I have
no idea if the roll cage design is correct as I didn't get any reference, among
others. But I like the end result.
Here are pictures of the interior prior to assembly, since it is hard to see once in place.
